I forgot to add that I have ancestors buried at Whitchurch Canonicorum church so it is even more personal to me as a Dorset boy. Flag now ordered via the online shop, I look forward to receiving it soon!

From the frontpiece of this guest book it would appear you have had some adverse comments which is a great shame. I have only just discovered that a Dorset flag now exists and after some thought I think the whole concept is great as is the flag.

As a Weymouth boy I especially love the gold as it, of course, the golden sands of Weymouth! I was born in Weymouth in 1945 but worked in Surrey for 36 years eventually retiring to live in France for the past six years but my roots are and always will be in Dorset. Here in the Tarn, a beautiful area of France much like the Dorset I grew up in, they have a great flag with the Occitan cross, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Occitan_cross but now of course I want the Dorset flag to fly with it! So I will be ordering one and will send you a picture when I have the two up and flying.  Great work - well done and thank you.

I've been having fun trying to find the best way of combining the contents of the County Council flag with the Dorset flag St. Wite's Cross. A fellow-heraldry-enthusiast in Sweden has produced a visual version of my latest idea, which can be seen at http://www.heraldik.se/heraldica/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2158 - look for the contribution sent by Jörgen on the 20th of May.

Sir,
I have and always will think of myself as a "Dorset Boy", I was bore and raised in Poole as were most of my family.
My Sister told me about the flag recently & I have placed my order today. Having lived out side Dorset & the UK for many years, I have always been looking for a way to show that I'm not just British but from a very special part of the UK. Finally I have the way.. The flag is great, it says all it should, in a very bright & almost load way, perfect for Dorset. We need to stand out as a county & you have achieved it.

Love the flag!!!!

Thanks
Andrew

I made inquiries about buying a Dorset flag nearly three years ago after seeing people on campsites proudly fllying their county colours. At that time nobody could give me any information about an official flag and the best suggestion I had was copy the coat of arms from Dorset Fire Engines.
The new flag is a great design and I'm very proud to be able to fly it wherever we travel.

Sorry, but until today I didn't know there was a Dorset Flag - I know shame on me - My family and I live in Tarrant Gunville, just north of Blandford, and other than a year in Africa and some time working in London, I was born here and lived here all my life, so am very proud of my county. As such, seeing my wife, kids and I have started taking holidays up in Scotland I thought it would be nice to have a Dorset sticker on our car. To this end, when we went shopping one day in Weymouth I went into every souvenir shop we passed and asked if they sold Dorset car stickers. They all said No!. I thought, well maybe I should design one, have it made and sell it to the shops (my design was going to have 3 lions on it!!!!!). Doing abit of quick research, I found your site and learnt about the Dorset Flag. Fantastic! Well done! I've obviously dropped my idea and will be ordering my sticker from you soon.  (Why don't you try and get some of the souvenir shops to stock them !!!)

Great work.

As a Dorset ex-patriot now living in Wales I didn't realise there was a Dorset Flag until I came across it on the Dorset Knob web site http://www.thedorsetknob.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=33

Hello, born in Weymouth, raised in Bridport and Whitchurch Canonicorum.  Moved to California, then to Willow, Alaska.  I'm so glad to have a flag of Dorset that I can display proudly to this "flag obsessed" country.  I have a sled-dog kennel and I've named it "Far from the Madding Crowd" and two of my dogs are "Tess" and "Sheba" (Bathsheba).  Jude will join us later this month.  Thanks for the flag.

Good to hear you like the flag.  Wimborne Tourist Office has some excellent flag badges made up as traditional "Dorset Buttons".  I think they are £4 and well worth it.  They also sell the little circle ones for 30p and other flags and stickers.  On line I think Dave will be able to do most of them for you.

Fantastic to have own County flag and such vibrant colours. London born and lived there for 21 years then in Kent for 39 years. Moved to Dorset 2 years ago and absolutely love it and proud to wear the dorset flag replica badge I have just been given. Where can I obtain more?

Great to see the Dorset Flag at the "Terras" match. Have been seeing the flag pop up here and there, but looking forward to the warmer weather when I think there will be marked showing of the flag across the county and the country. Mine will be flying alongside the Morbihan (Brittany) flag in May when we go off on our first holiday. Photos later.

Lets see more of the Dorset Flag.
