Sorry, but until today I didn't know there was a Dorset Flag - I know shame on me - My family and I live in Tarrant Gunville, just north of Blandford, and other than a year in Africa and some time working in London, I was born here and lived here all my life, so am very proud of my county. As such, seeing my wife, kids and I have started taking holidays up in Scotland I thought it would be nice to have a Dorset sticker on our car. To this end, when we went shopping one day in Weymouth I went into every souvenir shop we passed and asked if they sold Dorset car stickers. They all said No!. I thought, well maybe I should design one, have it made and sell it to the shops (my design was going to have 3 lions on it!!!!!). Doing abit of quick research, I found your site and learnt about the Dorset Flag. Fantastic! Well done! I've obviously dropped my idea and will be ordering my sticker from you soon. (Why don't you try and get some of the souvenir shops to stock them !!!)

Great work.
As a Dorset ex-patriot now living in Wales I didn't realise there was a Dorset Flag until I came across it on the Dorset Knob web site http://www.thedorsetknob.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=33

Hello, born in Weymouth, raised in Bridport and Whitchurch Canonicorum. Moved to California, then to Willow, Alaska. I'm so glad to have a flag of Dorset that I can display proudly to this "flag obsessed" country. I have a sled-dog kennel and I've named it "Far from the Madding Crowd" and two of my dogs are "Tess" and "Sheba" (Bathsheba). Jude will join us later this month. Thanks for the flag. Good to hear you like the flag. Wimborne Tourist Office has some excellent flag badges made up as traditional "Dorset Buttons". I think they are £4 and well worth it. They also sell the little circle ones for 30p and other flags and stickers. On line I think Dave will be able to do most of them for you.

Fantastic to have own County flag and such vibrant colours. London born and lived there for 21 years then in Kent for 39 years. Moved to Dorset 2 years ago and absolutely love it and proud to wear the dorset flag replica badge I have just been given. Where can I obtain more?
Great to see the Dorset Flag at the "Terras" match. Have been seeing the flag pop up here and there, but looking forward to the warmer weather when I think there will be marked showing of the flag across the county and the country. Mine will be flying alongside the Morbihan (Brittany) flag in May when we go off on our first holiday. Photos later.
Lets see more of the Dorset Flag.

oh yeah, before you say something, I have left message's before only in support. Have just scrolled down the forum and note that another person who had a pop at the flag allegedlly had the same IP address as me ?? Once again, Mr White, you accused me. That is the reason I left the facebook page. I can only assume that the 'other' person also works at County Hall.
I think the flag is great and something we have needed for years.

Andy, I thought we'd resolved this long ago? I asked you at the time if you were posting from work as you'd be sharing an IP address with others. You never replied. I accept that it wasn't you.

Finally one adorns behind the goal at Weymouth FC games. If you scroll down the attached link you can spot the flag making it's debut behind the goal at Kidderminster last week.
St Wite's day is June 1st. We plan to refine a list of specific days when the flag should be raised, not excluding every day, but significant days. Eg The date Duke of Monmouth landed at Lyme, St Aldham & St Cuthberga etc.
Any further news on a list of official dates to fly the Dorset Flag. One month into the new year, we should have something up and running, which can be added to as we move along.

Well Said Chris and many thanks for waking me up!
The Flag led The Wimborne Militia in the Save The Children Parade on Saturday 13th December.
The Flag appeared in the Bournemouth Echo on Dec 17th when Mr Gudger, Corporal Edred and I handed over £503.00 to The Priest's House Museum as a result of the funds raised at the flag party in the White Hart earlier this year. Many thanks to PRONGHORN, RAT RACE, ANNIMAL TALENT SHOW & The White Hart Team Led by Kate. We gave the money to a Wimborne Charity in thanks and appreciation for the massive support we had from the town and the enthusiasm which really got the flag off the ground. The Priest's House is enjoyed by all and all of the town benefit from its great work.
The Flag also had an early morning outing on Tuesday (16.12) in Wimborne to welcome Jay of 2CR radio doing his sponsored walk for children's charities. He didn't know what it was but certainly does now!
I took the Flag to Camp Bestival at Lulworth Castle in the "summer" and it appeared on the main stage with me when I introduced The Flaming Lips. I managed a small tirade in support of the Flag and Corin of The Echo took some good pictures which might be on the Echo website.
Many other adventures have been had and I will try to relate when I finish work for the holidays.

It appears to have gone very quiet on the Dorset Flag website. I have viewed the forum every day, yet nothing appears, and yes, I am just as guilty. However, it was great to see that the Wimborne Muskets got their chance to fire their muskets, with the Dorset Flag being vigorously waived in the background. Lets keep the forum thriving by adding our stories of where you have seen the Dorset Flag, or where you have flown yours. I flew mine on our holiday to France, alongside the Morbihan Flag, sadly I did not take a photo of this, but will do when we go again in May. Nearly had my side window flag stolen the other week, but the would be thief was seen and warded off, with a list of unpronouncable names follwing after him. So you Dorset Flag waivers, lets have your stories and photos.
A Merry Christmas and a Very Happy and Prosperous New Year to you All.
Seasonal Greetings Chris
